Model United Nations Conferences

Model United Nations (Model UN) Conferences are held all throughout the world. Participation in a Model United Nations Conference provides a unique opportunity for students to learn about international relations and the work of the UN, develop professional skills, interact with college students from other regions, and practice negotiation skills. Students participating in Model UN must commit to being at the conference for the entire duration, learning and operating in parliamentary procedure, regularly attending class or the International Relations Club, and submitting required writing assignments to participate in the conference. At the conference, each student will represent a specific nation to a committee that works on agreements to solve the greatest challenges the international community is facing today. While there are no costs associated with participating in the conferences on behalf of Highline College, students will be required to arrange their own transport to Seattle and professional attire is required for all conferences.
